New College Oxford asked Langford & Chamberlayne for advice on updating their bespoke decorated china which was no longer produced and very dated in style. The proposed new china was for use in the Senior Common Room and also for the Hall. In addition, the china needed to be identifiable to each location.

Langford & Chamberlayne had several meetings with the relevant people in the College who had an input in to the style and quality of china required for both locations, and helped to identify the College Crest to be used along with a Scroll.

Churchill’s Alchemy Ambience Fine China is a UK premium made product which is very elegant and stylish. Samples were provided and New College were very happy to use the Ambience range for the Senior Common Room. To keep with the quality and style, it was proposed to use the Alchemy White Fine China in the Hall which comes with a neat rolled edge giving excellent chip resistance in a very busy location. The final touch was to use a different coloured crest in the Hall from the SCR.

Langford & Chamberlayne worked very closely with Churchill and the College throughout this project and this resulted in all the requirements of New College being met.
