Langford & Chamberlayne were asked by Blessed Hugh Faringdon Catholic School to quote for the supply and installation of a new Bespoke Servery Counter to replace their existing counter which looked very dated.
On the initial site visit it was evident why the old servery needed replacing. Apart from its age, It was made of wood with drop in units that lacked the ability to display food at its best. In addition, there were roll under hot cupboards that had minimal hot storage space to keep food to temperature prior to being placed on the counter for lunch service.
In discussions with the Catering Manager and the School Business Manager, it was clear that the school were looking for a modern feel to the counter with the ability to display the food under retractable heat lamps dropped from a “Goalmouth” style gantry.
Guided by the Catering Manager, Langford and Chamberlayne came up with a design for the new servery and the school chose a suitable colour for the panels to the front of the counter. After a couple more visits, final dimensions were taken, the design confirmed and the order of works agreed.
The removal of the old servery and the installation of the new took place during the schools summer holiday. This went smoothly and after an alteration to the electrical supply, the new servery was in operation.
The Catering Manager is now able to increase the choice of the food being offered and has improved the quality of the food on full display. The school have been delighted by the finished product that came in on budget and was completed in time for the new term.
