Langford & Chamberlayne were asked by ISCC (who give expert Catering, Cleaning, Kitchen Design & Food Procurement Support) to quote for the supply and installation of equipment in to a new kitchen at Unicorn School.

The equipment required included: Rational Combi Ovens, Extraction, Foster Chillers & Freezer, Falcon Induction Hobs, Hobart Hood Type Dishwasher, Planetary Mixer, Microwave, Mobile Servery and Bespoke Fabrication. In addition, Langford & Chamberlayne quoted for all the light equipment required for the new kitchen and dining hall.

Unicorn School accepted the quotation.

The existing kitchen was old and the units were made of wood. The school appointed a builder to do the initial strip out, building alterations and running of new services. This necessitated a number of meetings between the Bursar, Builder and Langford & Chamberlayne.

A site survey was arranged with the builder prior to completion of the alterations to make sure that the correct services would be in the correct place and of the right capacity once the installation work started.

The installation went ahead as planned over the course of four days during the summer holidays. In addition, further visits to the school were made by Langford & Chamberlayne prior to the start of term to assist in the unpacking and checking off of the light equipment. With training offered on the new equipment, the Chef is looking forward to the start of the new term and the opportunity to increase the range and quality of the food offering to pupils and staff. In addition, the school now have a fully operational commercial kitchen that is compliant with present regulations.
