Alton School

Langford & Chamberlayne were asked by Alton School to quote for the supply and installation of a Rational iVario Pro L Multifunctional Cooking Centre, along with a Rational iCombi Classic 10-1/1 Electric Combi Oven. The new Rational iCombi Classic was required to  replace an old 10 grid Combi. The Rational iVario Pro was needed to replace an old Falcon Bratt Pan.

The benefits of the Rational iVario are:
Boiling, frying and deep frying all in one multifunctional unit
Perfect cooking results in record time
Maximum flexibility on minimal space
Minimal monitoring or checking required
Cooking intelligence that does it all for you
Maximum energy efficiency (up to 40% less power consumption)

A site survey was arranged and it was noted that the iVario would need to be stripped down to gain access in to the kitchen, where it would need to be re-built. Apart from that, only minor alterations to the power supply was required and the school did this through their in-house team.

The installation went ahead as planned over the course of one day. With full training offered on the new equipment, the Catering Manager is looking forward to the start of the new term and the opportunity to increase the range and quality of the food offering to pupils and staff.

Guy and his team from Langford & Chamberlayne were my first choice when it comes to the supply of kitchen equipment at Alton School. Guy met with our Catering Manager, Lorna, to fully understand what equipment would best suit the needs of our busy school kitchen serving about 500 hot lunches and around 50 nursery teas each day for children (from 6 months to 18 years) and staff. Following the meeting Guy supplied his quote for the equipment together with his recommendations. A site survey was carried out to ensure that there is appropriate electrical supply in place. On the installation day Guy accompanied his team, ensuring a smooth delivery as well as complete satisfaction of our catering team. Lorna is delighted with the equipment provided by Guy; the team are looking forward to undertaking further training on Rational iVario in order to take full advantage of its functions. Time saved on cooking and associated savings on energy costs will be utilised to further enhance the food on offer at the School. This is the second school where I engaged the services of Langford & Chamberlayne – I would recommend them unreservedly.
