Langford & Chamberlayne were asked by the Head of Catering at the London School of Economics to quote for the removal of two old Rational Combi Ovens (a SCC61 stacked on a SCC62) from their main kitchen, and to replace them with the latest Rational Self Cooking Centres, two SCC62’s stacked.
A site survey was arranged, and it was immediately apparent that the main issue would not be the installation, as all the services were to hand and this part of the install would be fairly straightforward, but in getting the two Rational SCC62’s from the ground floor to the 4th floor kitchen. Likewise, in getting the old Rationals out and safely disposed of.
The surveying engineer quickly worked out that by stripping the Rationals down, they would just fit in to the lift to the 4th floor with millimetres to spare. The new Rationals could then be re-built once the 4th floor kitchen had been reached. The installation was arranged for a clear day during the Easter holiday recess when the kitchen was closed.
The installation went smoothly, and the Chef now has an increase in capacity in his cooking line and is able to produce the quality of food in the quantities he requires to satisfy all his customers.
“Langford and Chamberlayne have recently replaced two Rational combi ovens in our student restaurant on the fourth floor of the London School of Economics. From start to finish I have found Guy Chamberlayne and his team to have been professional, courteous and accommodating. The initial quote was competitive and all further communications were excellent. The pre-install visits were swift and thorough which meant the logistics of the delivery on the day went very smoothly. Once arrangements were in place for the install I felt confident that Guy and his team would deliver, which they did, on time and with great care and attention to detail. The safe removal of the old equipment and install of the new equipment was completed efficiently and the area was left clean and tidy. I would thoroughly recommend Langford and Chamberlayne and would be happy to use them again for similar jobs in the future”.
