Langford & Chamberlayne were asked by Alleyn’s School, a leading Independent School in Dulwich, to quote for the upgrading of equipment in the main cook line, along with a replacement freezer, various items of bespoke fabrication and some light equipment.
This included: Rational SCC201 Gas x 2 / Blue Seal GT46 Twin Tank Gas Fryer / Lincat OG8801 Gas Bratt Pan / Falcon G3127 Solid Top Boiling Tables / Williams LJ2-SA Freezer.
A site survey was arranged and this reported that there were issues with the gas, water and waste supply in the main service spine. Due to age and other issues, the gas pipe and connections were all going to have to replaced, the water would have to be extended at high level, and the waste modified. Langford and Chamberlayne quoted for this additional work and the quote was accepted.
Due to equipment break down, one Rational and one Falcon Boiling Table were installed during the summer term, and the replaced items removed from site and safely disposed of. The main body of work took place during the summer holiday to be ready for the start of the new academic year in September.
All went to plan and the Catering staff returned to an upgraded kitchen that complied with current legislation. Being a large and growing school, the Chef now has an increase in capacity in his cooking line and is able to produce the quality of food in the quantities he requires to satisfy all the pupils and staff.
“The team at Langford & Chamberlayne did a fantastic job of the installation of the new kitchen equipment at Alleyn’s. Guy was excellent with the communication at every stage. The workmanship of the completed project was on time and to a high standard. I have already recommended them for other projects”.
